Our Red Jade Australia Banh Pia Cake is a modern adaptation of these different recipes and techniques used in these traditional cake-making process. The result is our Banh Pia Cake, a delicious buttery, soft layered pastry (not crumbly), encrusted with a soft moist taro filling.
Ingredients:
Filling (60%): Taro Paste: (Taro [35%], Sugar, Canola Oil, Glucose Syrup, Taro Flavour & Colour).
Pastry: Wheat flour, Water, Shortening (Solidified Vegetable Oil), Sugar, Canola Oil, Salt, Tapioca Starch, Colour (124), Egg Wash.
Allergy Warning:
Product Contains: Sesame, Peanut, Wheat, Gluten, Egg, Soy.
May Contain: Lupin, Almond, Cashew, Milk.
I love the flaky pastry and the filling is not too sweet but just enough to enjoy. The other plus is the fact that the banh pia is not oily. In fact we love the durian too. We don't get the artificial after taste. These 2 flavours are our favourite. The mung bean were good too.
